They assume that the user will attach the database to Datasette using a fixed name - But what if we want to support users downloading databases from each other and attaching them to Datasette where those DBs might carry some of their own configuration? Moving metadata into the databases makes sense there, but what about database-specific settings like the default sort order for a table, or configured canned queries? Having those tied to the filename of the database itself feels unpleasant to me. But how else could we handle this? |
